Okay… so I’ve been back with my wife now for a little over 10 months at the time of this writing… But we were separated for about 6 months before. Pretty much the worst 6 months of my life… She simply got up and walked out on me with no explanation…
We had met at the University of Texas where we both went to school and graduated from. We stayed in contact after school and started dating when she moved out here to California in 1994. We dated until we got married in 1996…
Fast Forward 13 Years Later…
I would like to say that the first 12 years of our marriage were pretty darn good! We went out often, laughed together, went out to dinners and movies, hung out with friends and had a good love life. But everything seemed to fall apart once 2009 rolled in… And I was clueless at the time. I knew we were drifting apart but I assumed that it was normal…
And that was my first mistake… I simply thought marriages go through rough patches and this was one of them. I figured I’d wait it out until she came around… By assuming she was the problem, it only made things worse. I never took the time to look at my own life and see if I was the one causing the problem.
I paid for it dearly around June of that year…
I came home from just another ordinary day at work and noticed that a few things were different… My wife’s car was gone. “She’s probably at the store. No big deal…” was what I thought… I went into my room to change out of my work clothes when I noticed that something was definitely different.
She Was Gone…
I opened up the closest and noticed that a bunch of her clothes were gone! “Oh crap we were robbed while I was at work! Is my wife ok??” So I called her cell phone and waited for her to answer… she didn’t answer so I left a voice-mail asking where she was.
I continued looking around the house and noticed that only her belongings were the ones missing… “Why the heck would only her things be gone? Why would a thief only be interested in her stuff and not mine?” And that’s when it donned on me…
My wife had left! She didn’t leave any notes, any phone calls, nothing. She simply packed up her belongings when I was at work and drove away… I tried calling her friends but none of them would answer. I didn’t know what to do and I would soon fall into a deep depression…
What I Found…
When the 4th month rolled around, I was still pretty depressed. I was going to work and all, but I pretty much stopped going out with friends… I wanted to keep to myself. But more than anything, I wanted my wife back… And that’s when I started looking around for relationship advice online.
I spent a lot of money on books like Men are from Mars, Girls are from Venus and other popular books on Amazon. I probably spent over $100 buying these books. But what I noticed, along with other men out there, is that these books didn’t really touch on the art of fixing a break-up. I ended up learning a lot from a few friends of mine. So much so that once I was able to get my wife back, I created my own guide that I have just released!
